Pictures from Opening Day

Yeah, I realize that they're a week late, but I wanted to share my pictures from opening weekend at Nationals Park. I'm a partial season ticket holder this year (20 games) so I was able to score tickets to the hottest event in Washington since Eliot Spitzer's last congressional hearing! Enjoy

To see all of my pictures from Opening Day, visit my online web album at http://picasaweb.google.com/Trivia.Guru/OpeningWeekendAtNationalsPark

The view of the capital dome is seen from the concourse just behind my seats (304 D)

This is the view around home plate from my seats.

The Belmont Stakes

Talk about your nerve racking, nail biting, gut wrenching game! Coach
K was sick and so were all the Duke fans in the crowd. It was
definately a hostile crowd, but we made it through... With only 1
point to spare.

But 1 is all it takes. Now we wait, and I hope we Arizona. I just
can't take these Belmonts and VCU games anymore.

They're tied?!?

I can't believe Belmont has it tied after 15 minutes! This is a
disaster!

Worst game of they tourney

Two words for Purdue v. Baylor... Big snoozer. Baylor looked like
they didn't have a clue how to run a play and Purdue kept making east
shots.

I can't wait for 7:10. It's my (and Kathy's and Noble's) Blue Devils
in the matchup of their life against the evil and vile Belmont team.
The stakes couldn't be higher! (get it... Belmont... Stakes...)

Almost

Georgia almost pulled the first big upset of the tournament, but the
refs had other plans in store. It's somewhat conspicuous when Georgia
had shot 2 free throws to Xavier's 21 with 7 minutes left in the
game. Oh well, at least the good news is that Brian picked Georgia to
win and now he's losing the bracket challenge!

Next game... Purdue vs. Baylor.

FUS Airways

So my plane left a little late, but that I can understand due to the
bad weather. What I find absolutely, completely, and 100 percent
inexcusable is that after we landed they announced that there were no
gates for us and that we would have to wait for one, also due to the
bad weather.

I took this picture 2 hours into our wait and I'm still waiting.

At least something good happened and OBama won the primaries tonight.

Now All I Need Is A Frozen Poll To Lick...

No I'm not getting ready to go to the Packers / Giants game. I'm about to head out to work on a beautiful MLK holiday. In case you were wondering how cold it gets in Washington during the last week of January, let me tell you, it's really, really coooooooold. Luckily for me, I only have to walk half a mile to the metro.

A New Year and a New Blog

I never realized how much pain and suffering I was contributing to the world until I received an email from Kathy a couple of days ago. Needless to say, I was shocked by what I read. I'll recap the conversation below:

Re: I am finished

I am going to delete your blog from my favorities if you don't update it! It's coming up on a year since you posted and I am tired of checking for these supposed photos, only to find Kermit staring at me over and over as if to say, "you imbecile, there will never be anything new on this page, just me!" Kermit is haunting my dreams! update your blog!!!!.

I was also speaking to Matt the other day and I discovered that apparently John Pate considers me to be one of the worst human beings on the planet with internet access because I hadn't updated my blog regularly. Well, I've turned over a new leaf and a new blog. The Oxidation Spot, God rest its soul, will no longer exist. For 2008 and beyond, I'm now posting on my new blog, The Ward Room.

The Format of this blog will be different from my previous blog. I will be updating this blog regularly (at least 4 times per week) and I will include my thoughts, opinions, and random happenings to accompany my pictures and other media.

Here's to a better year and a better blog!
